Call for Participation — BGIN Block 15
October 15–16, 2026 • Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. • in person (remote available) • same week as DC Fintech Week

Dear past BGIN participant,
BGIN Block 15 returns to Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., on October 15–16, 2026 (Thursday–Friday), in the same week as DC Fintech Week (October 13–16). If you are already coming to Washington for that week, you can add Block 15 to the same trip.
A Block Meeting is a practitioner conference that produces standards as deliverables. In the room, regulators, industry, researchers, and developers draft and advance blockchain governance standards. BGIN then takes that work into international standardization, including ISO/TC 307. That work is most effective when you are on site in Washington.
We hope you will join us in person. About eight weeks remain to secure manager approval, flights, and a hotel. If you cannot travel, remote participation is available and connection details are sent after registration.

Why Block 15 in D.C., now
Block 15 is a multi-stakeholder practitioner meeting in Washington to produce standards ahead of the next policy cycle. Outputs from this work are brought to international standardization, including ISO/TC 307. Priority themes are confirmed; detailed session titles will be posted as agendas firm up.
- PQC migration and crypto agility — preparing blockchain systems for post-quantum cryptography, including migration playbooks and neutral evaluation.
- Cybersecurity information sharing — advancing the BGIN framework, now on the ISO/TC 307 pathway as ISO/CD PAS 26348, together with the Security AI Agent workstream.
- Wallet assurance and related governance — Security Target / Protection Profile (ST/PP), Accountable Wallet, and a common lexicon for illicit-activity discussions.
- Digital-asset industry structure — continuing the discussion paper opened at Block 14 toward a shared model of the industry that regulators, operators, and researchers can use in national and international policy conversations.

How to join
We especially encourage in-person participation in Washington — two days of working sessions plus the Day 1 networking reception. If you cannot travel, remote participation is available; connection details are sent after you register.
- Contributor fee waiver — contributors who submit written work and present at Block 15 receive a full registration waiver. Contact the relevant Working Group chair, with bgin_admin@bg2x.org in CC. See the event page for the process.
Registration is paid on Eventbrite (in-person, single-day, and remote tickets). Card payment is open now. This message is a call to register — it is not a complimentary ticket.
If you have already registered for in-person attendance, thank you — please book travel now.

Plan D.C. travel now
Please join us in person in Washington. Eight weeks is a practical window for flights and hotels in mid-October. If you are already travelling for DC Fintech Week, Block 15 is Thursday–Friday of the same week — one trip can cover both. If you need a new U.S. visa, start immediately after registering; ESTA or an existing visa still leaves time to book, but autumn hotel inventory in D.C. tightens.
- Airports: Reagan National (DCA), Dulles (IAD), and Baltimore/Washington (BWI).
- Getting to campus: Georgetown does not have its own Metrorail station. The venue is reachable by Metrobus, rideshare, Capital Bikeshare, or on foot from Foggy Bottom–GWU, Rosslyn, or Dupont Circle.
- Hotels: book early near Georgetown, Foggy Bottom, Rosslyn, or Dupont Circle. BGIN does not currently list an official hotel block.
- Travel documents: after you register, write to bgin_admin@bg2x.org if you need help with travel documentation.
